New unique overnight experience in shipping containers

AccorHotels has developed the "Flying Nest" in collaboration with Capsa, a Lyon-based start-up company. AccorHotels provides the hotels business know-how and Capsa is specialized in modifying the modules. The converted sea containers are equipped with the comfort of a hotel room and intended to appeal to B2B customers such as event agencies, fair organizers, festivals and corporate clients. The aim is, among others, to use the sleeping boxes as a relief for the overloaded hotel industry during exhibitions. The mobile "islands" consist of six modules that have been clad with natural material - the wooden panelling comes from ecologically managed forests, the equipments is fair trade, the color is enviorementally friendly and the sleeping containers are illuminated with LEDs.

In our opinion this is a modern, unique concept! Integrating the aspect of sustainability and recycling discarded shipping containers meets the trend of our time. According to Sébastien Dupic of AccorHotels, the concept will be expected to be extended to the B2C market in Germany in 2019 as well. We are excited and hope that the project will also arrive in our the exhibition center Düsseldorf in our neighbourhood in order to offer a stylish and flexible alternative to the high demand for overnight accomodation for major events.
